Finding a Good Bedding Set
Deciding upon a nice bedding set is something some people hate. They try and come up with excuses, or just settle for something that they simply view as alright. After all, you're just going to sleep in it, what's the point of finding something nice?
This view of things is simply wrong. When you think about it, you spend more time in your bedroom than any other room in your house! What's more, your bedroom is your own humble abode. What you have in there defines who you are as a person and what it is you like. As such, taking some extra time to pick a bedding set you like is a great personal expression.
When it comes to finding a good bedding set, an important part is finding the colors that work well with the rest of your room. When people search for a nice bedding set, they often look at the set alone and decide on the one they think looks the best. However, once you place the comforter on your bed, it no longer is standing by itself and instead, must interact with the rest of the room. As such, you don't want to pick a color that might contrast too much with your bedroom walls or the existing decorations.
To help match your bedding set with your room, it's good to think of what different color bedding sets will mean. A black, white, or brown bedding set works nicely with most wall colors as these designs are neutral in tone. As such, you can buy one of these without much concern about the rest of your room. However, a blue bedding set or red one will interact with your walls differently, so before you purchase one of these sets, look up the different wall colors they work with and see which ones you have.
Overall, have fun picking out a good bedding set. We've provided a bunch of good resources below that should enable you to narrow down your search so you can find the set that's right for you. Let us know in the comments how you found your bedding set!
Understanding Duvet Covers
Another option that doesn't get considered enough is a duvet cover. Rather than spend a lot of money on a nice comforter, you can often get more bang for your buck by buying a decent down comforter and a complementing duvet cover. However, I believe a lot of people don't fully understand the benefits of a duvet cover, and so they often go unused.
A duvet cover is like a slipcover for bedding. By putting your comforter in a duvet cover, you're able to give your room a whole new look. In this manner, when you buy your comforter, you don't have to worry about what your walls look like, you can just get a different duvet that will complement the walls better.
Another nice perk of the duvet covers is that they are machine washable. When you get a stain on your comforter, you pretty much HAVE to get it dry cleaned. If you don't dry clean it, there's a good chance you can destroy your comforter and waste all the money you put into it. With a duvet cover, they're thin enough that you can just pop them in your washer and be done with it.
The next time you go shopping for a new comforter, stop and look at the different duvets that are available. You might find that they are just what you're looking for.
